County Transit and Land Use Workshop Dec. 7

St. Petersburg (Nov. 30, 2009) -Those with an interest in the future of
transit in Pinellas County may wish to attend a free Pinellas County Transit
and Land Use Workshop Monday, Dec. 10 from 8:30 a.m. to noon at the Tampa Bay
Regional Planning Council, 4000 Gateway Centre Blvd., Suite 100, in Pinellas
Park.

St. Petersburg City Council Chair Jeff Danner will kick off the workshop, and
introduce Tim Garling, the executive director of the Pinellas Suncoast Transit
Authority, and the keynote speaker, G. B. Arrington. Arrington is an
internationally recognized leader in transit oriented development and has
served clients in the United States, China, Australia, Dubai and the Caribbean
in resolving politically and technically complex land use and transportation
challenges. He is with New York-based consulting company, Parsons Brinckerhoff
Placemaking.

In addition, participants will take an interactive survey regarding
development possibilities for Pinellas, followed by a group discussion.
