First Bank Donates Land To Girl Scouts of Gulfcoast Florida
First Bank on Thursday, Nov. 5 officially presented the Girl Scouts of Gulfcoast Florida a parcel of land adjacent to their existing Camp Honi Honta in Bradenton.
“What a wonderful opportunity for First Bank to partner with the Girl Scouts of Gulfcoast Florida,” said Anne Lee, First Bank’s Retail Banking President for Florida. “Many people at First Bank as well as the Girl Scouts have worked very hard over the last year to make this donation possible. I am so thankful for all their efforts.”
Joining Lee during the presentation was Sandi Stewart, CEO of Girl Scouts of Gulfcoast Florida; Richard Gonnering, Girl Scouts of Gulfcoast Florida Property Director; Melissa Burtless, Girl Scouts of Gulfcoast Florida Chief Development Officer; Alexandra Gornik, Girl Scouts of Gulfcoast Florida Communications & Marketing Manager; and Sharon Houston, Assistant Vice President and Regional Support Specialist for First Bank.
Named Okeelanta by the Girl Scouts, Stewart said plans for the new wetland area would include multiple outdoor activities along with expanded hiking trails and archery ranges and approximately two acres to build a possible large sleeping unit.
First Bank is one of the largest privately owned banks in the country with $10.3 billion in assets and 209 locations in Florida, Illinois, California, and Missouri.
